The window's closing Terry. Dunn for Garza--do it.

(However, the writer of this news piece misspelled "quandary" in his opening paragraph.)

Dunn for Garza I would do.

If they won't part with Garza then it would take Kevin Slowey, Glen Perkins, and another prospect.

Garza or nothing. IMO. We'd have the Twins by the short and curlies. If you want a slugger--it's Garza. If not? Stubborn your way to another opportunity missed.

Dealing Edwin opens up a trade of Dunn to San Diego.
If you have a losing record at Reds games, please stop going.

That's what I was thinking. Edwin to the Twins for Garza or Slowey followed by Dunn to the Padres for Chase Headley, Chad Huffman, and another top prospect. The Padres need Dunn badly and should be willing to overpay for him.

I don't want a single thing the Padres have to offer. Stay the hell away from that organization.

They don't have much in the pitching prospect category but the do have some nice looking bats.

Chase Headley is a 23-year old switch-hitting 3B hitting .348/.439/.612 in Double-A (also has 17 atbats in the majors). He could step right in at third base for the Reds if they deal EdE.

Chad Huffman, Matt Antonelli, and Nick Hundley are also intriguing bats.

I mostly agree with this. The only guy I really like is Headley and a couple of their relievers, but those guys are not the type you target in a Dunn trade. The Reds need to get at least 1 legit young player, which the Padres don't have to offer.

Taking quanitity over quality woud make it a pretty realistic thought that the Reds end up with zero players that will really make a difference in the future.

Simply put--this is no time to settle for less in a deal for Dunn. There's no real urgency on the part of the Reds.

Wayne's got no other choice but to play hardball with other GMs.

Exactly. If nobody comes offering a good enough package for Dunn, then the Reds still have another full year to either trade him in the right deal or simply continue having a really good player at more than fair salary.

Not if they have no intention of picking up that option. And I'm not sure they do.

Exactly. I think a lot of people overlook that.
