If the Reds were smart they would hire there own beat writer and give him top billing on their website. Also give him the freedom to write what he wants.

C Trent has been such a success because he is so accessible, something almost all the other writers are not.

MLB controls all web content. So even if they wanted to they have to go thru Buds house first, and that's filter city.

Nah. The one Bud would try to sell you would be white with brown rust spots all over it. This is much too fancy for a used car salesman like Bud.

Used car salesman.. another baseball myth.

Before entering baseball, he worked for his father who owned a car leasing business in Milwaukee.

    What would Nader say?

(that is a pretty sweet looking car).
Burn down the disco. Hang the blessed DJ. Because the music that he constantly plays, it says nothing to me about my life.

It's interesting how we RedsZone users seem to get so much more value out of the Post's online content than the Enquirer's. Yet the people who actually buy newspapers seems to be voting with their dollars (or their quarters) for the Enquirer.

It probably has more to do with the Post's desperate attempts to stay relevant and solvent by putting content online and embracing Web 2.0 than anything else. Once Cincinnati becomes a one-paper town with less competition for online local eyeballs, I wonder if we might start seeing less Enquirer content online?

The Post has had better baseball coverage (IMO) since I first read it in the 70's.

And local college sports coverage. I'm looking at you, Bill Koch.
What if this wasn't a rhetorical question?

I was just thinking, if the Enquirer hired C Trent and Katzowitz they'd have a pretty solid sportswriting crew.

    Curnutte(Bengals), Katzowitz(UC), Dow(XU and other colleges), C Trent(Reds)
And keep Wheeler and Daughtery to have two columnists again.
When people say that I donít know what Iím talking about when it comes to sports or writing, I think: Man, you should see me in the rest of my life.

Geoff Hobson used to work for the Post, and now is the head writer for Bengals.com

Mark Sheldon does a good job for Reds.com, but maybe C. Trent can get on board as well...
