Nice to see he wasn't injured, the layoff probably gave him some good rest.
Ive been saying he needed a week off for a while now. He said he had a tired arm about a month ago and well, here, take a look at the chart I made for before he said he had a tired arm and for after he said he had a tired arm.
I even saw scouts say that his sinker was not sinking like it had earlier in the year, so something was going on.... I tend to agree with you that his rest was probably a very good thing for him.
Anytime a pitcher just falls apart like that, you worry about health. He just wasn't going through bad stretches in games like Bailey, he was getting rocked 24/7.
Big guy like that with a bulldog frame, shamefull loss it would be.
Rick Sweet his finally starting to figure things out.
Dickerson RF (although he should be in CF)
Hanigan 1B
Votto LF (2 days in a row in left)
Herr 3B
Bruce CF
Bellhorn 2B
Gutierrez DH
Jorgesen C
Janish SS
GCL Reds won 5-0.
Justin Reed went 2-4 with a double, walk, stolen base (7) and an RBI.
Devin Mesoraco went 1-3 with a walk and he played catcher so looks like he HBP was no big deal the other day.
Petr Cech went 1-1 in a PH role today, but in limited playing time he is now 5-13 on the year.
Dragons line-up for today.
Stubbs CF
Turner SS
Francisco
Phipps RF
Heisey LF
Parker DH
Louwsma 1B
Rodriguez C
Rojo 2B
Guerrero P
.261/.370ish/.280ish.
He has not shown much power at all yet. 7 walks, 6 strikeouts.
I've very impressed with Mesoraco's plate discipline so far. BTW, Nefi Soto homered again yesterday also.
There is nothing wrong with Stubby's toe. He just lead off with a triple.
Don't no about his base running though. He just got picked off 3rd by the catcher.
Sarosta won 3-1
Thompson: 5 Innings, 7 Hits, 1 Run, 2 BB, 3 K
Medina: 3 Innings, 1 Hit, 0 Runs, 0 BB, 1 K
Lutz: 1 Inning, 1 Hit, 0 Runs, 0 BB, 2 K
DeJesus: 1 for 4 with a single and 2 RBIs
Dorn: 2 for 4 with a single, homerun and 1 RBI
Holden: 1 for 2 with a single and walk
There is a lot wrong with his toe. He has done something though because he has been destroying the baseball in July.
