A faster outfielder catches that....nice effort though.

Valentin still stinks as a catcher. He couldn't call a game in Little League.

Belisle is pitching his way out of the rotation.

Belisle's getting no help here....shoddy defense and poor pitch calling.

Valentin's going to put me on the bereavement list for watching games that he starts.

It's not Belisle, it's the inept pitch-calling of Valentin. If Ross was catching this game the Marlins wouldn't have any runs. Belisle's pitches are working.

Belisle needs to put away that either slider or cut fastball he is throwing, olivo and now Uggla

I think they need to re-evaluate Matt Belisle's role on this team....I think he'd be better suited for the bullpen.

He never gets any better from start to start

I think you're right Pedro. Belisle has made great progress this year on his control, AND in being a full time starter.
Now that he pitches a lot more within the strike zone...he needs to get a bit more strategic....as opposed to just thrashing to find the zone like years past.

I think this is where ED's comments come to fruition...he needs a catcher to help his harness his good stuff and good control by calling a good game.

his main issue as a starter is lack of 3rd pitch.

Matt, he does great whenever he works with Ross. His pitches aren't good enough to overcome the poor pitch-calling by Valentin. Valentin is clueless on how to call a game and on the strengths and weaknesses of opposing batters. He's either lazy and doesn't study enough or he's just stupid. I'm guessing some of both.
