HR: ATL - Jeff Blauser (13), Andruw Jones (11), Chipper Jones (16), Fred McGriff (14). CIN - Bret Boone (4).

This was Jack McKeon's first game as manager of the Reds.

During the off day on 7/24, the Reds also released 3B Terry Pendleton.

John Smoltz pitched a complete-game two-hitter to get the win for the Braves. The Reds only two hits were a fifth-inning single by Hal Morris (following a walk to Jon Nunnally), followed by three-run homer off the bat of Bret Boone.

Robinson batting 6th? Redszone would have had field day with that.

Just thought I would put in the 1972 All Star Game that was played on this date. The Reds own Joe Morgan drove in the winning run in the 10th inning as the NL came from behind to win 4-3. IIRC Morgan earned the MVP award for the game. The only other Red to play in the game was Johnny Bench who started at catcher. The top of that NL lineup is awesome with five HOFer's. Although I know Mays had seen better days.

Personally, I would put Robbie in the #3 spot in the '57 lineup and leave him there.
