"Linus and Lucy" might very well be a contender, as long as its the version that doesn't use the lurid "electric harpsichord."

Plus, Vince had that great 'stache.

My personal favorite is the melancholy "Great Pumpkin Waltz".

There goes my vote for "My Humps"

Since there's really not much Broadway representation, I'll thrown in a few:

Seasons of Love - Jonathan Larson: Rent (a song I never tire of)
    One Song Glory - Rent
What You Own - a lot of non-broadway fans would like this one
La Vie Boheme (LOVE this one performed)
Goodbye, Love - Rent (powerful stuff)
Anthem - Chess; an amazing song
Mountain Duet - Chess (just about anything from Chess is great)
The entire score of Ragtime - one of the best scores ever. Too bad the show wasn't any good. Here are the best from that score:
Wheels of a Dream (gives me goosebumps listening to the amazing Audra McDonald and Brian Stokes Mitchell)
'Til We reach That Day - VERY powerful song
    Make Them Hear You
    New Music
    Sarah Brown Eyes

    Purple Summer - Spring Awakening
Thos You've KNown - Spring Awakening
    'Ol Man River - Showboat
Now When the Rain Falls - The Scarlet Pimpernel
When I Look at You - The Scarlet Pimpernel (good soundtrack, terrible show)
One Day More - Les Mis
On My Own - Les Mis
    I Dreamed a Dream - Les Mis
Bring Him Home - Les Mis (obviously, Les Mis had some phenomenal songs)
Free at Last - Big River
Leavin's Not the Only Way to Go - Big River
Being Alive - Stephen Sondheim in Company (Sonheim is nothing shor of genius)
    Marry Me Little - Company
A Little Priest - Sweeney Todd
This is the Moment - Jeckyll & Hyde
Someon Like You - Jeckyll & Hyde (my wife won a fairly prestiguous vocal competition singing this song)
Brother hood of Men - How to Succeed in Business...
    Buenoe Aires - Evita
Grape works as a soda. Sort of as a gum. I wonder why it doesn't work as a pie. Grape pie? There's no grape pie. - Larry David

Funny thing happened last night. After dissing Ace Frehley here yesterday I got in my friends car to head out to softball last night and he and my other friend were all excited because they were "rocking out" to Ace Frehley's solo record.
School's out. What did you expect?

    Ditto

"Somewhere Over the Rainbow" is the best song of the last century, IMO

Before that, I'm partial to Mozart's piano concertos (his most popular work is Eine Kleine Nachtmusik)

I'd also like to give a shout out to "Solace" by Scott Joplin

Re: Top Songs of All Time?

I've come to the conclusion that there is no way I can do an all-time top songs list, with so many different variety and styles coming into existence in the last century. You're gonna leave somebody out who probably deserves to be on the list.

Besides, personal preference takes over, and my list would be dominated by music of the 60's for the most part. Our slections, and some have already shown that, would become generational.

My Dad would list nothing but Big band Era.

But ome songs that I'd probably put on the list, not necessarily because they are personal favorites of my own (because some are not), but because of just how popular they were within that culture, and have stood up well....

    My Way - Sinatra
    White Christmas - Bing Crosby
Walk On By - Dionne Warwick
    Hound Dog - Elvis Presley
Rock Around The Clock - Bill Haley
    Tutti Frutti - Littl Richard
That'll Be The Day - Buddy Holly
    Louie Louie - The Kingsman
I Want To Hold Your Hand - Beatles
I Walk The Line - Johnny Cash
    In My Life - Beatles
    Purple Haze - Hendrix
Mr Tambourine Man - The Byrds
You Really Got Me - The Kinks
A Day In The Life - Beatles
Monday Monday - Mamma & the Pappas
Hungry - Paul Revere & the Raiders
    My Generation - The Who
    Satisfaction - Rolling Stones
House Of The Rising Son - The Animals
    My Girl - The Temptations
Light My Fire - The Doors
Stairway To Heaven - Led Zeppelin
    Layla - Eric Clapton

see.... I told you I would leave some out.

I personally think "The only Living Boy in New York City" is up there pushing the Boxer, and America by S&G

Say what you want about Frehley's Comet, but Ace's solo KISS record rulez.

    I agree with him 100%

Talk about overblown, those would be my top two choices.
