I've never been very high on Kerry Wood. When he's really on it is as good as it gets, but he's so brittle and inconsistent, he's not on it very often.

Peoria got a run in the 3rd, 1-0. Alexander Smit, the recent waiver claim, is the Dragons pitcher tonight.

i wish they would just bring Votto up...as many have posted he has nothing else to prove...hopefully after the deadline he will get his chance...if they continue to let him sit at AAA after the deadline what next?

Should have made him a reliever years ago.

He lost A TON of weight, but he still has the same old throwing motion. Throws across his body like no other.

    5 Innings, 2 Hits, 1 Run, 0 BB, 1 K (66 pitches)

his arm is gone....all those hooks and IP when he was young took it's toll...he will never be the pitcher he was at 21

Speaking of pitchers named Wood, what's the latest on Travis Wood?

Dayton gave up 3 runs in the 4th, now down 4-0. Only 1 run was earned, but then again does it really matter?

Either he is getting called up or they just want to keep his innings down. My guess is he is coming up for Saarloos.

Valaika is 3-4 with a double. Hopefully he's figuring out High A now. Jukich with another solid performance. After 3 really bad starts, he has a 1.80 ERA in his last 5 starts. And Cueto has an abysmal performance tonight

Hopefully its Bray and Dumatrait up, Saarloos down, Stanton out, Belisle to pen, Dumatrait to #5.

I'd prefer a second half rotation of...

    Harang
    Arroyo
    Bailey/Dumatrait/Livingston

Not sure who should be 3-4-5, but whats it gonna hurt?

Once Lohse gets dealt I'd like to see Dumatrait take that spot in the rotation, it's time to see what he has.
