Now if we just get Eddie and Bray back, we'll win the division.....

Championships for MY teams in my lifetime:
    Cincinnati Reds - 75, 76, 90
    Chicago Blackhawks - 10, 13
    University of Kentucky - 78, 96, 98, 12
    Cincinnati Bengals - None
    Chicago Bulls - 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98

Lord know if there's just one thing we were all clamoring for, it was for the return of Santos!
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

Expected after yesterdays disaster (again) by Sarrloos.

Not that Santos is any world beater, but he's far better in the long reliefe (read: step in when Loshe, Belisle or Livingston colapses and eat up 4 to 5 innings) role than Capt Kirk.

I'm sure there'll be some clever "deck chairs on the Titanic" comments, but this is a far better use of "roles" for the guys than having Sarrloos in the long reliefe spot.

a super volcano of ridonkulous suckitude.

I simply don't have access to a "cares about RBI" place in my psyche. There is a "mildly curious about OBI%" alcove just before the acid filled lake guarded by robot snipers with lasers which leads to the "cares about RBI" antechamber though. - Nate

This is nothing like shuffling deck chairs on the titanic, this is much more like painting a house that was knocked down by a tornado.

    Much more creative and original!

Agreed. Santos is no world beater but he's decent as a long reliever. Every once in a while you'll have to trot him out in extra innings but I'd much rather have Santos in there than Saarloos.

I'd just like to see some of the kids come up for a change, but I guess Louisville does have to finish out their season without all the Reds' crappy pitchers.

If only we can win a few more games the season will be saved!

    Gross. Incompetence.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

Mackanin has been talking a big game about "performance." I'd say this is consistent with that message. I was thinking about this after the blow up and figured that Pete would tell WK "I am not using Saarloos anymore. Just thought I'd let you know that."
