    With Gonzalez Back...

How does Pete find playing time for Keppinger? I would like to see "Keppy" get AB's for the rest of the season, but the problem is, he has to play SOMEWHERE. Of course, a deal the next couple hours could change that dilemma, but what do you guys to get Keppy AB's?

Hopefully swiping days off for Philllips, Gonzo and EE every 2 weeks a piece and our first PH off the bench. I think that is nice work for what he brings to the team.

if Dunn and/or Hatteberg gets traded I wouldn't be surprised to see him in left or at first.

I would give him some spot starts around the infield to spell guys. However, I would be playing Brandon Phillips and Edwin Encarnacion on a regular basis.

With the way Kepp has been hitting the ball I think it's very important to have him on the field every day. I know most people around here feel that EE should be playing everyday but how can you start him over Kepp right now. EE only is only good to this team if he shows he can hit for power, or that he can spray line drives around and knock in runs, which he has failed to do. Kepp has shown that he can put the ball in play when needed, and has the makings of a pretty good 2 hitter which we will need if Hatte is to leave town. I will agree that EE needs to play everyday but only if he shows that he can hit in the middle of the line up. But thats just my opinion.

I agree that Kepp needs to play everyday and EE needs to play everyday. If you can only play one, right now it has to be Kepp.

I respectfully disagree. Edwin is younger than Jeff and he has more potential in my opinion. Jeff's max is probably a very good bench / role player. Edwin's max is probably an above average 3rd baseman. He needs many AB's so he can regain some confidence.

Kepp may be playing very well, but that's hardly a good reason for this team to play him every day imo--The question is--"Is Kepp likely to be a long-term fixture in the Reds infield?" If the answer is no, I don't see why he should receive [I]any[I] playing time. It's not like they're hoping to catch lighting in a bottle at this time of the year. If you're positing EE versus Kepp, I would much rather see EE allowed to continue to mature against ml pitching than take my chances that Kepp (after multiple so-so minor league seasons) has suddenly figured it out.
