Wow, maybe that Scott Williamson trade will pan out. I was just looking stuff up on Dumatrait and I didn't realize he was a first round pick and 22nd overall in 2000.

Jay is now hitting .286/.367/.557 in AAA. Thats an OPS of .924. Not bad for a 20 year old.

    Honestly... no.

If Joey Votto cant get into the line up with Hatteberg/Conine then I don't think they will bring up a 20 year old with Hamilton, Griffey, Dunn, Freel and Hopper out there.

I could see it If Hamilton doesn't return or Dunn or Griffey gets injured.

So does that mean Maloney will start tomorrow for Chattanooga then Doug/anoyone who knows? It was his day to pitch and Cueto's, thats why I thought Cueto would get promoted.

He's now hitting .350/.429/.482/.911 in only 77 AB's by my calculations. Why so few ABs? Was he injured earlier? Craig Tatum is hitting almost as well. Perez was considered an excellent fielding catcher. Is he now on the prospect radar?

iirc, Perez had wrist surgery of some sorts and is just now coming back from that. Him hitting a HR is huge, bc he just flat out doesn't hit HR's, so that tells me his wrist is ok. I think Perez will be a serviceable backup someday. I've heard from insiders (Tony Reali: Innnsiddder information (points click up)) that Perez is ML ready defensively (prior to injury). I've also seen him play many times in Dayton, and I thought he was ready defensively then too, as did a Cardinals scout I talked to then. He will be the new Manos de horo (sp?) if he makes it. Has a cannon too. Likes to gun guys from his knees and can do it.

heh. Remember some people saying Bruce would hit about .230 and be overmatched at AAA?
