Kudos to REDS' players for visiting wounded soldiers....

....and, of course, to the soldiers themselves....

    from the Enquirer:

...Reds players Jeff Conine, Jared Burton, Jon Coutlangus, Mike Gosling, David Ross and Scott Hatteberg visited wounded soldiers at the National Naval Medical Center on Wednesday morning. The group signed autographs and passed out Reds caps.
Rob Neyer: "Any writer who says he'd be a better manager than the worst manager is either 1) lying (i.e. 'using poetic license') or 2) patently delusional. Which isn't to say managers don't do stupid things that you or I wouldn't."

And when they left all of the soldiers said, "Who was that?"

Seriously if you aren't a Reds fan who besides Jeff Conine and maybe Scott Hatteberg do they know as MLB players?

That being said I am glad they did this. I really like some of the guys the Reds have on the team such as Griffey, Arroyo and Conine (among others) they seem to go out of their way to do stuff like this.

I remember one time going out to the mound to talk with Bob Gibson. He told me to get back behind the batter, that the only thing I knew about pitching was that it was hard to hit.
