    Re: Any news on Hamilton?

    From today's notes:
Hamilton update: Outfielder Josh Hamilton took live batting practice on Friday for the first time since being placed on the disabled list on July 8. He will also taking batting practice tomorrow and the pitcher will be a familiar one -- Harang in Dayton.
Sounds like improvement......hopefully he'll head out to Louisville for rehab soon....
This will not change until the Reds win the World Series.......

I really miss seeing Josh Hamilton play. He was one of the reasons to watch a losing Reds club.

That would be an awesome game to go to in Dayton...the whole Iraq thing kind of hinders that but maybe a few of you all can make it for me. I hope Hamilton gets better real soon...be nice to see him on some highlight reels out here.

I don't think that Hamilton and Harang are playing in Dayton, just Harang throwing live BP and Hamilton taking live BP from Harang.....that would be interesting to watch though......

At this point, I'm not sure why Hamilton needs to go to Louisville. Especially since Freel looks to be going to the DL, why not just bring Hamilton up and start him in CF?

It is probably a medical precaution to make sure he's completely healthy.

I understand the reasoning behind sending him there for a few games. Typically I would agree. All I'm saying though is that with the season lost and Freel hurt, why not let him get his timing back with the Reds?
