Well, the announcer said on one pitch that his fastball was 88 mph, and moved from off the plate to the corner.

I see good things ahead for Smit and Maloney
One thing ya gotta give WK credit for is picking up three lefties with quite a bit of upside in Smit, Jukich and Maloney. All three have been pitching lights out since coming to the Reds.
It took Jukich a few starts, but he's now throwing great.
Unless his fastball is much better than advertised, I see a guy that will probably struggle against better hitters in AAA.
