    ** Bonds Broke the Record - #756 **

Watched it live on ESPN. "Barry, Barry" chants and flash bulbs galore.

Congratulated by his son at the plate...tons of media at home plate...surrounded by teammates....**** load of fireworks...tons of streamers in the stands...

...and a crazy...insane battle for the ball.

    I just witnessed history.

I saw him break the single season home run record when I was at Cincy and I saw him break the all time record while I was at home.

    Re: Bonds broke the record

I went to a game at GABP in 2003. Bonds was facing Josh Hall, and I experienced something I'll never forget. Bonds strode up to the plate, and everyone in the stadium knew he was going deep. I (and 40,000 others) just waited for Barry to hit one out, so we could just get on with the game. It was eerie. Maybe that more than anything else tells me how good Barry was. That was definitely my weirdest experience at a ballgame.

I enjoyed watching his son's reaction. It makes you think what you would do if your father did something like that.

At least Kearns and Lopez have a claim to fame now. They hit a HR in the same game as the record breaker, haha.
