John Lennon. He had finally gotten his life (and music) back together when he was killed and had a lot of music left in him.
And I'll stretch the question a bit and add in Jimi Hendrix. He *really* died too soon. What he would have done over the succeeding 37 years since he died would have been a fascinating evolution of sounds and music to hear. I think we missed out on a lot.
