Dunn could stand to lose a few pounds of fat, but I have seen him close up in person in street clothes. He is not fat at all. He is just a very large person. He is very tall and has a big, wide, sturdy frame. Even if he lost 50 pounds he would still look big.

Whats next you gonna tell me hes one of the fastest guys on the feild? Or wait your going to word it like "ive read adam dunn has been working on his speed, no one works harder than dunn"
Nope not the fastest. But he is a smart baserunner.

What proof do you have that hes out of shape? None? okay thank you. Sorry I go by what I read since I can't go up and give him a skin folds test.

Now hes just out of shape in conditioning. So now that means his swing wont slow down because he is no longer too big.

The Giants are going with a youth movement and have no spot for him. Only offer he got last offseason was the Giants

He is DONE after this season

Are you serious? The swing has nothing to do with his weight. Its his frame and his mechanics. As you get older your body gets weaker. That swing while produces power for him isnt going to produce as much power when his body starts to wear down. It happens to everyone.

yeah when he gets to 40 you're probably right it'll slow down. I just love how you change your stance so many times in every arguement. And when are you going to stop my question about Griffey? How can you support him when he makes more than 2.5 million more than Dunn?

I dont support griffey that much but he makes 2.5 million more than dunn because thats what happens when you sign older guys to long term deals.

I didnt change my stance on Dunn swing at all. You cant understand how people get older and weaker. Its not about when Dunn is 40 either. His hitting zone his small, his power numbers are going to start to decline rapidly near his late 30s. Thats if he follows the normal decline of mlb players.

Bat speed in baseball is a huge part of hitting, Dunn while now has a nice powerful swing as he gets older that swing is going to get slower and hes going to miss more balls than he does now and have much more trouble driving balls out of the park. If he can adjust his swing as he ages to make up for the batspeed he will not see a drop off as much. He will have to compact it a lot. Thats not me bashing Dunn thats just what players have to do.

We all know players decline when they get into their late 30's thanks for that insight. You made it sound like Dunn would fall off at 30

Don't thank me before I have a chance to prove you wrong. It comes across as being extremely sarcastic, and I believe that's against the rules of the board...............................

Need proof he's not in the greatest physical condition? It's in the numbers.

    Dunn by the month HR/AVG/OBP

    April 43/.278/.428
    May 43/.230/.367
    June 44/.259/.378
    July 37/.279/.407
    Aug. 41/.224/.343
    Sep. 16/.211/.346

And fwiw, he's only had 32 less September AB's than April....

I'm pretty sure you can see an obvious trend here. Over the last 2 months of the season he has his 2 worst BA and OBP months, and two of his three worst HR months. Now, he's from Texas, so I don't really think we can use the intense Cincinnati heat as an excuse, so what is it? C O N D I T I O N I N G................

He's the baseball equivelant of an offensive lineman not being able to hold his blocks in the fourth quarter.

How on earth did you get that it sounded like I said at 30? This is talk about him becoming the home run king, that by it self implies its a talk about late in his career.

You guys kill me some times with your total misunderstanding of simple concepts.

I know its an internet forum so conversations can be hard to understand sometimes and stuff can be misunderstood so please dont be so quick to take every word as its extreme and run with it.
