    Brandon Phillips for Gold Glove

All of us Reds fans believe that Brandon Phillips is a great second basemen defensively. It's time that we start voicing our opinion that he deserves the Gold Glove this year. Here are some stats for all of you to chew down on.

    Games: 111 (T-2nd)
    Innings Played: 972.2 (2nd)
    Total Chances: 559 (1st)
    Putouts: 240 (1st)
    Assists: 313 (2nd)
Errors: 6 (T-6th best *only including players with 50+ games)
    Double Plays Fielded: 86 (1st)
Fielding Percentage: .989 (T-3rd best *only including players with 50+ games)

I think Brandon Phillips needs to be a serious consideration for the Gold Glove recipient for NL 2B in 2007.

As much as he deserves one he probably wont even get a vote.

1st in total chances at second base? I thought GABP was a fly ball park. How were that many ground balls hit there?

You are probably right unfortunately, but if sportswriters vote on it(who votes on Golden Gloves?) he should at least get votes from the Atlanta and LA press. He was spectacular in the 15 inning Braves game and the recent LA game.
