According to John Fay Gonzalez is getting the day off because his throwing arm is tender.

Who needs Hamilton when you have Jason Ellison?

And so we see the return of the Sunday Special lineup. Took Pete Mac long enough, though I guess maybe I haven't paid attention to Sunday lineups recently and he may have done this before.

Hopper and Ellison in the same lineup? If nothing else they'll have no problems out-scrapping the Pads today. Think I may pass up watching the game in favor of the final round of the PGA.

They benched 3 players with injury issues. I have no problem with these 3 getting days off. It's the lack of depth that hurts.

Aside from Ellison, this really isn't a Sunday Special.

Who has injury issues, besides AG?

Griffey always needs rest. Or he will likely get injured. Benching him on Sundays is usually a safe assumption.

Hamilton is coming back from an injury. I have no problem having him eased into the line-up. We are against Peavy anyways. If you are going to rest players, may as well be against him.

Hopper over an activated Hamilton clinches it for me. Especially when you've already decided to play Ellison, who seems to have a similar skill set (I didn't say they were good skills) to Hopper.

The only reason I could see for keeping Hamilton on the bench today is so that he can miss out on Peavy being the opposing pitcher in his first game back. Even then though, that's a pretty poor reason.

If that's the case, they might as well have let him play one more game in AAA.

Ellison is actually Hopper-lite. Ellison is worthless and with Hamilton being activated has no business being on the roster. Bellhorn is actually far more valuable than Ellison.

Ellision has 1 BB and 0 XBH on the season. Just another example of how clueless WK is when it comes to building a roster.

I wondered about the Ellison over Hamilton comment. I didn't realize he was back until I went to the ORG forum.

Also, as I got to thinking about it more, didn't KJr slip or something on Friday?

    Giles....wow.

I'm sorry, but it is not acceptable to allow him to do this like he has against the Reds
