But wait...what if the new 3rd catcher is worse?

    Re: Moeller to Dodgers

What I truly find amazing is that someone actually woke up this morning, and said "How do I make the Dodgers better? I know I will acquire Chad Moeller for the stretch run. Gotta have 3 catchers. Man Depodesta was stupid"
The Sox traded Bullfrog the only player they've got for Shottenhoffen. Four-eyes Shottenhoffen a utility infielder. They've got a whole team of utility infielders.

I think Depodesta is with the Padres now

I know, that is why I wrote it. The ran Depodesta out of town, and are quick to say they did. I think it is a pretty safe assumption that Moeller is NOT a Depodesta type player.

Depodesta traded Paul Lo Duca, didn't you know that was the worst move ever?

To quote Lenny Dykstra... Great trade! Who did we get in return?

Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

That's pretty amazing that the REDS could get anything at all for Moeller.

You have to give Krivsky kudos for that.
Rob Neyer: "Any writer who says he'd be a better manager than the worst manager is either 1) lying (i.e. 'using poetic license') or 2) patently delusional. Which isn't to say managers don't do stupid things that you or I wouldn't."

    Re: Moeller to Dodgers

Chad Moeller has a couple of things that most of us could only wish we had.

    1) 5+ years of MLB service time

    2) nearly 3 million dollars earned while in the big leagues

Now, who wants to trade places with Chad Moeller?

    LOL!!

Is Moeller anybody's type of player?

He also has another thing that Hall-of-Famers (future Hall-of-Famer in Bonds' case) like Ty Cobb, Rogers Hornsby, Eddie Collins, Babe Ruth, Josh Gibson, Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Joe Morgan, Mike Schmidt & Barry Bonds never had. Moeller hit for the cycle in a MLB game. You might remember...

April 27, 2004: Cincinnati REDS at Milwaukee Brewers
    >> Brewers win 9-8 on a 2-run walkoff HR by Bill Hall off of Danny Graves in the bottom of the 9th. Chad Moeller hits for the cycle.
Small market fan... always hoping, but never expecting.
