    Hamilton activated/Bellhorn DFA

From Trent - Josh Hamilton has been activated by the Reds and Mark Bellhorn is designated for assignment.

It's his day at the park...but he's not in the lineup!

    Ellison or Hamilton.......................................I can't decide.

Just thinking out loud--but maybe he'll just see pinch-hitting duties for a couple of days till he finds his MLB legs again.

Ya I assume so. Nobody is actually going to choose Ellison over Hamilton.

Hamilton should be eased in to avoid further injury.

Just in time for fifth day. I wish I weren't so hung over right. I'd love to be at the stadium today.

Agree, that would be the sensible thing to do.

Josh Hamilton went 6/16 .375 at Louisville in 5 games. He also walked twice , stole a base and drove in 2 runs. With Peavy pitching they might as well of let him get 4 or 5 more ab's at Louisville today.

Except that Josh and his wife are featured presenters in today's heavily-promoted promotion at GABP. Thus it would have been bad form for him to be playing in Louisville today.

He shouldn't be sitting sitting in Cincinnati either, IMO
