Is Louisville easier to hit at than other places/

I see guys coming up from AA and their numbers improve.

I see Major League players like Moeller rip the ball at Louisville.

Cantu since he's been there has an OPS of about .830.

As far as park factors go, Louisville plays as a pitchers park that supresses home runs and doubles. Obviously the pitching is better in the major leagues.

I believe those are just for this year WOY, and 1 year park factors are pretty useless due to the fact that just a bad team or a really good team will do strange things.

    Code:
    Team R H 2B HR BB SO
    Dayton 1.05 0.98 0.84 1.04 0.87 0.86
    Sarasota 0.94 0.95 1.06 0.61 1.09 1.02
    Chattanooga 1.17 1.13 1.03 1.21 1.13 1.02
    Louisville 1.05 1.01 0.97 0.89 1.01 0.84

A little off topic, but Louisville is an awesome ballpark.

It really is. Cincinnati is surrounded by great Minor League parks (which will be even more true when Columbus gets their new park).

I had no idea that Portland's ballpark was the toughest in all the minor leagues to get a hit in and to score a run. So, a guy hitting .300 in Portland is a .350 hitter in an average park.

These numbers say that the Pacific Divisions of the Pacific Coast League have some of the toughest parks in all the Minor Leagues to hit in. Portland, Sacramento, and Tacoma don't fit the norm of what's normally thought of as the traditional Pacific Coast League.

hahaha . . . Maybe a dead bird will be in my next avatar. It's actually a cicada (hence, I've been waiting 17 long years for another championship).

Take a look at Jay Bruce's home and away offensive numbers for Louisville and it definitely looks like its a pitcher's park. It is only for 18 games at each, so it is a small sample size, but still...

    HOME SLG - .383 (AB - 60)
    AWAY SLG - .732 (AB - 71)

Joey Votto's splits vs left and right are even more pronounced in the SLG dept, as is the REDS' next best 1B prospect.....both are slugging about .353 vs Lefties this year.

Thats even more reason to believe this team won't be good against lefties now or until we develop a righty with power... other than Phillips.

Then there's the strangeness of Encarnacion being better against Right-handers during his career so far in AVG and SLG.

Edwin is really struggling this year.
