My birthday is April 13th. Off the top of my head it is Thomas Jeferson's birthday and also I was born on the day Pete Rose collected his first MLB hit.

There was a military coup in Afghanistan where the King fled.

The Reds had 10 hits, but lost 2-1 to Jim Lonborg and the Phillies at Riverfront.

Shakespeare's birthday is debated. He was christened on April 26, so many scholars observe his birthday as that day (that is the day that I wear my Shakespeare socks every year). He did DIE on April 23, as you say -- we definitely know this -- which accounts for the Book Day, and that's also accredited with a lot of people believing that it was his birthday for a long time.

In truth, no one really knows when he was born. It was before April 26 but not too far before, so April 23 is certainly possible. But people anymore traditionally observe it the 25th or 26th.

Re: The Day You Were Born

I share a birthday with Nicky Hilton and a birthdate with Kate Winslet.

On my birthdate, the Reds beat the Pirates 6-1 in games 2 of the NLCS. Tony Perez hit a home run and is thus, my favorite Red since birth.

Legend has it that my dad had to stop at the store to buy batteries to ensure that he would be able to listen to the game on the radio while I was being born.

Re: The Day You Were Born

I have a printout of the front page of the Dallas Morning News from the day I was born hanging on the wall of my office. (Courtesy of the online newspaper database at my local public library.) There wasn't much happening in the world that day, so it's a good thing I came along.

My birthday buddies are Clint Eastwood, Joe Namath and Brooke Shields. I don't have any famous birth date buddies.
