I notice the AAA bullpen had a bad night. We are hoping Coutlangas , Salmon, and McBeth will make it back to Cincinnati next year, but tonight was a setback. I am beginning to wonder how much Coutlangas' demotion affected him.

Ive been ringing the Drew Stubbs bell for a while, but I just wanted to do it once more....

    Since the start of July:

.313/.399/.549 in 178 plate appearances with 13 doubles, 4 triples and 5 HR.

Drew Stubbs stats if you take out June:
    .297/.394/.485 in 398 plate appearances.

So is he magically uninjured now?

No, he isn't. He is just playing very well.

Rumor has it that Drew Stubbs intentionally injured himself to give the rest of the league a chance against him.

the fact that he's limped through the whole season and has these type of numbers, yes Linecum is a stud, but Stubbs is playing like a no.1 I wish some more bashers would fess up and come clean and admit they were wrong about him...not the guys who already have I tip my hat to those guys, its the other guys who havent stepped up. Geez there were 100 post threads going on in here slamming my guy.

Drew Stubbs is about 1 year into his professional career. He has the talent to boom, the vulnerability to bust. He's real interesting that way. Seems he's hit this hot spurt since being moved down in the order.

I really wonder what the plan was for keeping Votto in AAA the whole year? The guy deserves to be up..i know no room for him, but he needs to be at the major league level.

I am hoping the Reds will have a waiver deal done by the start of September, and Votto will be on the team by then. Worst case scenario, he has to wait until next year after Conine retires. He really has nothing left to prove in AAA.

You might as well wait for that, he's in Dayton. He could become a bust again (not that I think he is) when he goes to Sarasota. Im sure if he started as slow as Valaika did there, people will be critical of him. I'd like to wait till the water is safe, say AA, before forming my final opinion. Unless of course it turns out wrong then I will post differently and hope nobody notices. Right now the solid contact he's making is what I'm excited about.

Not exactly. Since July began he has been on fire, and he wasn't moved out of the leadoff spot in late July.

Donnie Scott and Darren Bragg made it mandatory for everyone to choke up to try and cut down on the strike outs. Drew has been on fire since then. It has really helped the team. Here some stats for the last 10 games for some of the guys. The coaches deserve some of the credit.
    Stubbs .450
    Kainer .390
    Louwsma .316
    Turner .366
    Rojo .306

if thats true then it's damn good coaching, if we could get a guy named Adam to try that from time to time.
