    45 years ago (1962), a 5-1 loss at Crosley Field vs. the Dodgers.

    Don Drysdale pitched a complete-game three-hitter with 7 K's. The only Reds hits were singles by Don Blasingame, Leo Cardenas, and Vada Pinson. The Dodgers scored all five of their runs in the top of the ninth off Joey Jay and reliever Bill Henry. Frank Howard led off the inning with a home run. Johnny Roseboro walked, and Drysdale sacrificed him to 2nd. Maury Wills then laid down a bunt bunt single to advance Roseboro to third. Henry then replaced Jay on the mound. Junior Gilliam put down a squeeze bunt to score Roseboro, and was credited with a single when nobody covered first base. Willie Davis then concluded the scoring for the Dodgers with a three-run inside-the-park homer.
