    Shearn magic wearing off...
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

Giving up homers to Yadier Molina is pretty embarrassing.

It's still pretty early in this game and Tom Shearn is on the mound; I think the last day of August is not quite finished yet, either!

Cards are going to sweep this series. Wellemeyer's been pretty great in mop-up.

I am just floored by how well Harang, Phillips, Griffey, Hamilton, Valentin, Keppinger, Gonzalez, Dunn, and Encarnacion are playing.. These guys have this team 6.5 games back..

Wayne's downfall in this year's NL Central race for mediocrity is not having any starting pitching behind Harang and Arroyo.
