Leave it to Marge to not want to promote a kid b/c it would cost them $30K in travel expenses, salary and meal money....

On a side note, I highly doubt it that Rose Jr's mom bought 180 tickets. I wanna see a receipt. Some kinda proof of purchase. Something.

Guy in the white hat in the stands almost looks like Pete Rose.

That's b/c it is Pete Rose, sitting to Marge's left.

Marge is obscured by Jr's bat.

Did that happen on Sept. 1? I thought it was a couple weeks later than that. It was a good thing they brought him up. He deserved the promotion and he probably made them in ticket sales what he cost them in salary and per diem.

Was it Marge who was against this? I thought her love for the hometown kid and him being Pete Sr.'s kid would have outweighed her pocketbook. I don't recall Marge commenting about this much. I always thought it was JimBo or maybe even John Allen who was against it. If it was Marge's decision, they certainly fell on the sword for her.

The sad part... there are two people in that picture who served time in jail (white hat & sunglasses = 5 months ; red hat & eye-black = 1 month).

Small market fan... always hoping, but never expecting.
