Chris Dickerson hit a solo HR and is now 1-2 with a walk.

There has got to be a reason why Bruce is not playing on back to back days. Is he hurt? I don't think he's been in a slump of any kind, well he did make a couple outs over the week but still. Or maybe, just maybe, could he be on his way to Cincinnati?

I doubt Bruce is hurting, becuase CL Brown wrote an article on him for the Courier Journal today and he mentioned nothing of the sort, while having quotes from Jay about the possibility of getting a call up.

Maloney throws a scoreless 6th for the Bats. They said Saarloos is up in the bullpen, since pitcher bats 3rd in the bottom of the 6th.

What may be Maloney's final line today: 6 innings, 0 runs, 3 hits, 5 Ks, and 1 BB. He has a 3.18 ERA in AAA now.

Ya, I guess it's possible the Buck Coats acqusition sent Bruce to the Bench...

Not even the Reds are that dumb.... maybe yesterday was a scheduled day off and today he just isn't feeling well.

Re: Sunday September 2nd minor league updates

Homer's time in Sarasota almost seems like a 2nd spring training which gives us another indication of his rough summer. He is probably working out with alot of intensity hopefully and will be back in full gear soon. I would like to see him get some time with the Reds real late in the season to see if these thoughts are true.

I re-watched his start against the Cards, very impressive first inning. He gave up a run, but that was mostly bad luck. Threw a 94-97mph fastball consistantly and looked electric. But he lost it after that inning and his raw secondary stuff go exposed. Last year, it seemed he was holding onto that top speed longer before tiring.

Dayton is winning 8-2 in the 4th inning. The Dragons have hit five homers in only three innings - Louwsma hit one, Phipps one, Francisco hit #25, and Todd Frazier has hit two homers and driven in four runs.
