    50 years ago (1957), the Reds split a doubleheader at Wrigley Field in Chicago--losing the opener 1-0, and winning the nightcap 7-2.

    In Game 1, Moe Drabowsky pitched a two-hit shutout to get the win for the Cubs. The only hits for the Reds were a triple by Johnny Temple to lead off the seventh, and a pinch-hit single by Jerry Lynch to lead off the ninth. Bud Podbielan pitched a complete-game three-hitter in a losing effort for the Reds. The only hits for the Cubs were a single by Bob Speake in the fourth, and a homer by Ernie Banks followed by a single by Walt Moryn to lead off the fifth.
