    Would Alex Gonzalez be decent..?

    trade bait during the off-season to get a starter from somebody? maybe package him with a few minor league kids?

    I don't believe that you can get a starter good enough to help for Alex Gonzalez. I also don't believe Keppinger is an everyday player on a good ballclub.

    It would be difficult because of his age and contract. I am sure Wayne might still try though.

    But is $5 mil a year a bad contract for Gonzo type SS? Especially now that GABP has possibly inflated his numbers a bit.....

    That seems like a drop in the bucket compared to the $9 mil tossed around for the last few years on SS.
