BA Full Minor League Rankings - Sort of

I did this about a week ago for just the lower levels of the minors. Basically, I just took Baseball America's League top 20's and assigned points for players ranked 1-20.

Here are the points awarded listings

Its a basic thing that awards players ranked higher, then players closer to the majors.

Players that were listed in more than 1 league recieved only the highest point value that they recieved and were only counted as 1 player.

Its a very rough ranking system. For example, Brandon Jones of the Braves was the #5 player in the SL (and worth 28 points) but was the #14 player in the IL (and worth 16 points), but was given credit for 28 points. Its just how I chose to do it. Also remember that some players did not make any list due to not qualifying. Joba Chamberlain for example did not qualify for any list, but is likely a top 10 prospect in baseball. David Price, the #1 overall pick this year also did not qualify, so its not a full ranking system due to some players not qualifying. Likewise, some players are no longer prospects, but were listed by BA. Justin Upton, Billy Butler, Yovani Gallardo, James Loney and Adam Jones all jumped out to me as players who were listed and awarded high points, but are not technically a part of the teams farm systems anymore. So while this is a nice list to show who had the best systems for the 2007 season, heading into the 2008 season, it will not be as reliable as who has the strongest systems exactly.

Seeing them rank last in both your low and full minor league rankings, it seems like the A's don't have much of anything in their farm system. Have they been ravaged by injuries, recently graduated all their talent, or simply drafted poorly?

BTW, good work on these rankings. I'm sure it took you some time for all the research.
