Brandon Phillips becomes only the second 2nd baseman to go 30-30 in baseball history with his 1st inning, 2 run homer tonight. The only other man to do it is Alfonso Soriano.
Congrats BP!

The Reds announced during the game that Brandon is eligible for arbitration during the off season. WOW this cat is about to get paid!!! I say 3 year, 15 million. He also has a outside chance of hitting .300 and have 100 RBI's with a couple of big games during the next 4. What an outstanding season for Brandon.
I would try to sign him for 5 years. He plays everyday, has a great attitude and work ethic. Oh....he's got a good chance of winning a gold glove this year as well.
1st pick of the 2023 baseball amateur draft
Our infield is taking shape.
1B Joey Votto (LH) - has eventual 20-30 HR power
2B Brandon Phillips (RH) - 20-30 HR power
SS Alex Gonzalez (RH) - 10-15 HR power
3B Edwin Encarnacion (RH) - eventual 20-30 HR power
Res Jeff Keppinger (RH) - backup to all positions
Plus, it still comes pretty cheap.

Are you blind? LOL.
I did not see the thread. The majority of my post was about arbitration. If you don't want to read or post in this tread, don't do it. Being a smartalec in the anonymity of cyber space takes no courage.

A.Gon has 20-25 HR power, not just 10-15.I mean this year he hit I think what 18 and only played half the season.Taking to account the time he was hurt and off taking care of his son.I say in a full season at GABP he can hit 25 or more homers in a season. He showed this season hes a better hitter than he gets credit for,not great but decent.
Boy has Krivsky saved his own ass on at least three trades. Arroyo and Hamilton were great, but Phillips is a star, sky's the limit. If this guy learns to take a walk he's the next Soriano, with a glove... a golden one.
As long as Brandon quits swinging for the fences every at bat, These last two weeks he's been hacking at the ball like a bad golfer.
If he keeps hitting like he has at 0-2 he's going to be great.
You'd never know BP joined the 30-30 club if you only watched ESPN
