    Coolbaugh revisited


    I searched but didn't find this link in the archives. Sorry if its a reoeat but this is one of the best written sports pieces I've read in a long long time. A compelling story and a very good writer S.I. Price in this long (9 parts) article about the Coolbaugh saga.

    Since Mike grew up here and his family lives here, I've heard a lot about this story in the local media. Even so, this was a good article with some different angles on the story that I hadn't seen before. I think something flew into my eye around page 7 or so because I found myself reaching for the Kleenex box.

    So profound. Anyone who has ever wondered what "lifers" are like in Baseball this article can help with that.
    It's absolutely pathetic that people can't have an opinion from actually watching games and supplementing that with stats. If you voice an opinion that doesn't fit into a black/white box you will get completely misrepresented and basically called a tobacco chewing traditionalist...
