I doubt Edwin cares what his number is, but the number 28 has had at least one famous inhabitant...

    Vada Pinson.

Pinson was one of my boyhood heroes. Along with Frank Robinson he led the Reds to the 1961 NL Championship by hitting .343.

Bobby Tolan also wore the number as did Dan Driessen.

maybe I can get the #28 Kearns jersey changed now. That was a waste of money.

    I loved Pinson too WVRF.

I remember Sam Mejias, Kal Danials, Lenny Harris, Paul Konerko, Tolan and Austin Kearns wearing # 28.

But I believe Dan Driessen wore #22.

You are correct about Driessen - he wore #22 (looked it up in the Reds Media Guide - page 386)

Wally Post wore #28 from '52 -'57. Cesar Cedeno and Randy Myers also wore #28.

However, Scotti Madison and Scott Ruskin also wore #28.

Undoubtedly, the most famous #28 for the Reds was Vada Pinson, preceded by Wally Post. However, they were a little before my time. When I think of #28, I think of Kal Daniels, Randy Myers, Cesar Cedeño, and more recently Austin Kearns.

    OK. You're right! I don't know why I thought he had #28.

    Old brain.
