    I'm not so sure it doesn't. The universe punishes Cubs fans. Too much nyah-nyah-nyah from them might be just what the Reds need.

    I know that doesn't make rational sense, but Dusty Baker kicking their smug tails as they reach a century without a championship fits perfectly into their painful narrative ... that and Steve Bartman doing chevre commercials.

    I'm all for the universe punishing Cubs fans. They deserve what they get. I'm not particularly fond of Cubs fans making fun of Reds fans cause Dusty is our manager now but they haven't won a pennant since - as Steve Goodman said - they dropped the bomb on Japan.

    But all that doesn't make the Reds any better and it doesn't make the Cubs any worse.
