    For some reason I have very clear memories of Freddy Benavides as a Reds player. Just one of those players I latched onto over the years for whatever reason... like Billy Bates, Herm Winningham and Rolando Roomes, I suppose. Anyway, good to see he's still with the organization.

    Paul is a good guy. I used to sit with him when he charted games for the Reds in 2000-2001. Paul is very good administratively which this role demands. Hopefully he can get up to speed on Player Evaluation and negotiations. He has done some evaluating for the Reds at both the Professional and Amateur levels. IMO, he struggles mightily in those areas. He'll get better as he gets more exposure.
    It's absolutely pathetic that people can't have an opinion from actually watching games and supplementing that with stats. If you voice an opinion that doesn't fit into a black/white box you will get completely misrepresented and basically called a tobacco chewing traditionalist...
