On the brightside, at least you didn't lose to the Detroit Lions today...

Oh, I know you'll say "Wait, Caveat -- the Lions have a winning record this year!"

Record be damned -- it's the LIONS. They're always going to be awful. If they have a winning record its only because they haven't had enough time to lose a proper number of games.

Sigh, that call on 3rd and 7 with just under two minutes to go is absolutely maddening. Get a first down there and the game's over and the defense doesn't even have to hit the field again. But no let's run it right up the middle on 3rd and 7 instead of using our All-Pro QB and stud WR's to try and make a play like they normally would on 3rd and freakin 7. God forbid we run a pass play with the 1.2% chance Carson is gonna throw a pick and have it returned for a TD.

I know the Marvin hatred has many rooting against the Bengals now but they made some adjustments at half time and played well in the second half. I know the Jets are awful but at least the Bengals finally played a decent game.

Nice 2nd half by the offense.

Too bad the defense had to quit before the game was over, but perhaps holding a bad football team under 30 points is too much to expect from these scrubs.

And at least Marvin finally got to call a timeout with no time left. It was nice to see his brilliant stategy at work, allowing the two point conversion. If that's how he handles all timeouts, perhaps the league will stop allowing the Bungles to use them.

Props to the offense though for the 2nd half - give them a competent defense & special teams and this might be a contender.

They finally got the running game going, which allowed the defense to energize and attack at full speed.

Joseph finally caught a pick with those stone hands.

The team isn't going anywhere, too many shortcomings, but a win is nice.

Where did some of the posters go after the Bengals rallied?

The D on the '88 Super Bowl squad was very stout. The other Super Bowl D was above average in an offensive minded year as well.

That was a good ending. I hope they can keep the momentum.
If you can't build a winning team with that core a fire-sale isn't the solution. Selling the franchise, moving them to Nashville and converting GABP into a used car lot is.

Don't bet on it! Take a look at the schedule and ask yourself if Henry's return after next week won't make a big difference. Actually I think Henry's absence has helped this team in the long run.

At any rate it was a nice rebound due in large part to Bratkowski finally getting his head out from between his own cheeks. You can't run a 3 wide or better scheme w/o a legit 3rd option which is exactly what they have been trying to do. Finally he starts to run the ball effectively and the offensive line finally jelled. Willie and Levi stayed in the game and stayed effective. The defense benefitted from being coached in game on the sidelines which the long drives allowed them to do. Plus they got some real solid time to get a breather for a change.

IMO this is a turning point, because they played very well the entire 2nd half scoring 21 pts on offense w/o throwing the ball all over the place and only giving up 3 points while scoring 7 on defense. With the exception of that last 8 pts in trash time.

A win is a win so I'll take it, if they can get the penalties and sloppiness under control they might turn things around.

Defense really turned things around in the second half, nice to see.

    Nice win for the Bengals.

Watson is making it tough for the Bengals to not name him the starter when Johnson comes back.
