After his performance last year, I can accept that.
great start too the offseason!!!
Add also Pedro Lopez and Michael Gosling, who were both claimed by Toronto.
-LTlabnerIf you can't build a winning team with that core a fire-sale isn't the solution. Selling the franchise, moving them to Nashville and converting GABP into a used car lot is.
no great loss here phil didn't exactly do anything to make us want to keep him. He's had his chances to prove himself and didn't do it.
dumatrait was superior
He reminded me of
a combination of dan dumoulin, mel behney, mark kroon, rick krivda, and joe henderson. Dont you think?
All this means is I will have to see play for the Indianapolis Indians next year.
When I see the 2016 Reds, I see a 100 loss team and no direction.
This could be good for Phil. Pittsburg is one of the few places in the big leagues where he would get a lot of starts. I really hope, for his sake, that he makes the most of them.

He just couldn't make the necessary adjustments to the majors. He might have better luck in Pittsburgh
He'll probably make a name for himself in Pittsburgh over the next few seasons and then price himself out of a Pirates uniform and leave via trade or free agency.
I'm glad to see this for Phil and also for the Reds rotation at Louisville. Same with Gosling. Now we can go Cueto, Maloney, Lizard, maybe Shearn, maybe Gardner down there until Lecure and Fisher are ready to go, hopefully by midseason. All those guys need the work; keeping Dumatrait and Gosling in the mix just would prevent these other guys from getting the innings they need to develop.
Excellent point. Dumatrait failed, Gosling showed little, why keep them around to further stunt more promising arms? Let's see what the next crop has. Best way to do that is to take them to the next level and see whether they have what it takes to hold our interest, and be part of the future.
