I bet you would. He's not getting all that much PT right now. His fellow JUCO transfer and buddy Jamarcus Ellis has been a real nice surprise this year. He's been solid.

Speaking of stud freshman, how long do you guys reasonably expect Patterson to stay at Kentucky?

    Vols vs. Vandy ...

first time I'll have seen Tubby with his new squad. Very interested.

I didn't realize the Vols and Commodores were on tonight. It will be a good night indeed.

Yanno, that is a matter of much concern/discussion, obviously.

Patterson and his mother have both maintained that he wants to stay 4 years and get his degree...

I would be quite surprised if that actually happens, but he definitely appears to have a really good head on his shoulders and he is a great kid... his size is one reason I think he might stay 2-3 years. He's a good 6' 8" but that's really it. He'll be going up against larger opponents EVERY NIGHT in the NBA... so far he has struggled against larger opponents; i.e. Varnardo @ MSU; Padgett @ UL etc. This is totally to be expected, however, considering he is, after all, a freshman.

My gut tells me 3. 2 wouldn't surprise me. I definitely think he'll be here at least one more season. Next year when Billy G gets a few more of his studs in here, he'll have a lot more fun, so that could play into his decision as well.

Louisville-Marquette is the ESPN2 game tonight. That ain't all bad, either.

BTW, the 3 "major" schools from Tennessee are a combined 45-2 as of now.

If you get Patterson for 3 years, that would be super. Unless you're not a UK fan.

We all knew from day one that Gordon was one and done. I wish he'd stay 2 but there is zero chance of that happening.

It's weird how much college basketball has changed in just the last ten years or so...

is there any way in hell a coach could assemble a team like that 1996 UK squad? Players of that caliber just DON'T stick around these days.

You're absolutely right. The days of watching a Final Four chock full of very good junior and senior laden squads are pretty much over. Unless the "little" guys like Butler make a run.
