    Dodgers decline Randy Wolf's option

    per rotoworld:

Dodgers declined LHP Randy Wolf's $9 million club option for 2008.
Wolf, who underwent shoulder surgery in September, gets a $500,000 buyout. The Dodgers are expected to have some interest in re-signing him to a smaller deal. He was 9-6 with a 4.73 ERA before getting hurt in July.

Think the Reds could take a look? An incentive type deal?

Wolf has now had both elbow and shoulder problems. I think he is with Pavano on the very doubtful list.

Besides, if he has any potential to return, the Dodgers will invite him to their spring training. And, he prefers to stay near his California home.

If you want to risk some money for a pitcher with arm problems my take would be spend it on Clement. He is going to be a full year plus from his shoulder surgery come spring. He was a better pitcher than Wolf to start with, BUT, I figure you're going to have to guarantee 4 or 5 million plus incentives to get him. (Other clubs are already linked to an interest, and I've heard $4million as a guarantee tossed around).

With Wolf the shoulder AND the elbow history really compounds the risk.
