Most lopsided/worst trade in the last 10 years

By worst I also mean best. At least for one team. Reading the Lincecum thread got me thinking about lopsided trades, and one immediately springs to mind:

July 30, 2004, Tampa Bay acquired nonroster LHP Scott Kazmir and RHP Jose Diaz from the Mets for RHP Victor Zambrano and RHP Bartolome Fortunato

Did anyone on the planet think this was a good trade for NY? TB absolutely stole him from NY. They got the Mets to pay the signing bonus and they reap the benefits. Oh what should have been... but that's another thread.

Is Zambrano still in the majors at this point?
    Suck it up cupcake.

Picked for last in the NL in 1997 The Giants swung this trade prior to that pick and still won the division

November 13, 1996: Traded by the Cleveland Indians with a player to be named later, Julian Tavarez, and Jose Vizcaino to the San Francisco Giants for a player to be named later and Matt Williams. The Cleveland Indians sent Joe Roa (December 16, 1996) to the San Francisco Giants to complete the trade. The San Francisco Giants sent Trenidad Hubbard (December 16, 1996) to the Cleveland Indians to complete the trade.

Wasn't that the trade for Kent though? I thought they traded him in 96 and then traded back for him the next off season. I could be totally off.
This is the time. The real Reds organization is back.

3 in which Krivsky was involved, directly or indirectly:

    1. Brandon Phillips/Jeff Stevens

    2. I loved the Joe Nathan deal.

    3. Josh Hamilton bears watching

It was for Kent... and the Tribe obtained him form the Mets mid season.

Williams walked after 97 and and Kent and Jose V combined to give the Giants a new DP combination, Tavarez pitched in 89 games too.

Yeah when you get Nathan, Liriano and Boof Bonser for AJ Pierzynski that's a steal. Add the fact that AJ's stay in SF was short it makes the trade even worse.

If Liriano makes a comback, this is a no doubter.

In terms of immediate impact, this is the only no-doubter.

The Nathan for Pierzynski deal took a long time to brew; Liriano's likely busted and Bonser's not much. Obviously Nathan made the deal a winner for the Twins, but it's not the most lopsided.

Young and Gonzalez made immediate impact.

    Here's another doozy:

July 23, 2003: Pittsburgh Pirates trade Aramis Ramirez with Kenny Lofton and cash to the Chicago Cubs for a player to be named later, Jose Hernandez, and Matt Bruback (minors). The Chicago Cubs sent Bobby Hill (August 15, 2003) to the Pittsburgh Pirates to complete the trade.

Yep, that's right: the Pirates threw in some cash.

To be fair, Otsuka was a good closer/setup man for the Rangers.

And Pierzynski did contribute to the Giants' NL Championship.

The Pirates got nothing in return, plus they threw in some cash. (Shakes head)

Actually.. the Giants NL Championship was in 2002 & Pierzynski wasn't traded until the '03-'04 offseason
