Also, it is important that we not vote for anyone other than Joe.

    Vote ONLY for Joe!

    FYI:

You can only vote once per browser per computer per day.

In other words, if you use FireFox and Internet Explorer, you can vote once per day from each. Also you can vote from each computer you use....

I never vote on these on-line things, but will make a happy exception.

Re: Nuxhall Fans Seek To Honor Ill Broadcaster - Vote Joe & Vote Often

What we need to realize is that fan votes only result in selection of three of the final ten candidates for the Ford C. Frick award.

Fans can determine three of the 10 candidates on the final ballot by voting at baseballhall.org, beginning Thursday and continuing throughout November. Active or retired broadcasters with a minimum of 10 years continuous broadcast service with a Major League club or a network or a combination of the two are eligible.

Fans may cast votes for as many as three broadcasters once daily, basing their decisions on four criteria: longevity; continuity with a club; honors, including awards and national assignments, such as the World Series and All Star-Games; and popularity.

The final ballot of 10 candidates, to be announced in early December, will include the top three fan selections and seven other candidates determined by a Hall of Fame staff research team. The Frick electorate includes all past winners and six historians appointed by the Hall of Fame.
We need to put together some type of letter/e-mail campaign to influence those that make the final decsion. Perhaps we should also produce a CD of Joe's highlights, and even include a copy of today's (11/17/07) Cincinnati Enquirer, which has about a dozen wonderful stories about Joe. Anyone want to stockpile a few dozen of today's paper to later mail to the final voters?

There should be endorsement letters from key baseball personbalities, as well as the fans here, to send to those voters too. Will Rob Butcher work on something like this?

HERE is a link to the former winners list at WikiPedia.

If we really want Joe to win, just voting online is only the start....

I've been getting an error while trying to vote today telling me that the page cannot be found after I've submitted my information.
My dad got to enjoy 3 Reds World Championships by the time he was my age. So far, I've only gotten to enjoy one. Step it up Redlegs!

And I've now submitted one final vote for Joe.

Hopefully our push has been big enough to get him on the final ballot, and then hopefully good things happen on the final ballot.
