    Can You Post a Spreadsheet?

Does anyone know if or how I can post a link to a spreadsheet on here? I've got some really in depth stats for 36 hitters in our system. It might be a good reference for the top prospect poll we've got going on.

You can post a delimited text file within the code fields for a display of a sheets contents.

I think though you'll have to fudge with the delimitaters. (use the tab key)

Ok... you have an excel spreadsheet, save that file as a .CSV file.

Open the CSV file in Notepad and the file should look something like this
PLAYER G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB SO SB CS AVG SLG OBA OPS
    Brandon Phillips 158 650 107 187 26 6 30 94 33 109 32 8 .288 .485 .331 .816
    Adam Dunn 152 522 101 138 27 2 40 106 101 165 9 2 .264 .554 .386 .940
    Ken Griffey Jr. 144 528 78 146 24 1 30 93 85 99 6 1 .277 .496 .372 .869
    Edwin Encarnacion 139 502 66 145 25 1 16 76 39 86 8 1 .289 .438 .356 .794
    Alex Gonzalez 110 393 55 107 27 1 16 55 24 75 0 1 .272 .468 .325 .793
    Scott Hatteberg 116 361 50 112 27 1 10 47 49 35 0 0 .310 .474 .394 .868
    David Ross 112 311 32 63 10 0 17 39 30 92 0 0 .203 .399 .271 .670
    Josh Hamilton 90 298 52 87 17 2 19 47 33 65 3 3 .292 .554 .368 .922
Each line separates the data in each column by a width that equals the distance that the tab key travels. If you save a excel file as a CSV file it will display a comma in between each column, you'd need to delete the comma and replace the space between with a tab

If the columns are separated correctly on each line then when you place the data between the [code] tags then it should display like this.

    Code:
PLAYER G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB SO SB CS AVG SLG OBA OPS

    Adam Dunn 152 522 101 138 27 2 40 106 101 165 9 2 .264 .554 .386 .940
    Ken Griffey Jr. 144 528 78 146 24 1 30 93 85 99 6 1 .277 .496 .372 .869

Re: Can You Post a Spreadsheet?

A quicker way to do it is to simply copy/paste out of excel straight in to notepad. It will actually convert the columns in to tab delimiters for you. You might have to clean it up a little, but otherwise it saves a bunch of time.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.
