Very good show about Nuxhall. I just happened upon it as it was just starting. It's a good retrospective of his life and love of baseball. Lots of good interviews with former Nuxhall teammates. I looked through the Dish guide and it's on again Thursday at 8 pm on FSN Ohio and Cincinnnati.

Someone should print up this thread and mail it to Joe's family.

A lot of wondeful articles interspersed with anecdotal memories of the Old Lefthander.

Agreed. I watched it and enjoyed it very much, and I'm going to look to DVR it when it airs again on Thursday. I definitely would recommend any Reds fans to watch it if they have the chance.

One thing I really liked seeing was what appeared to be real footage of Joe's first game in 1944. They had a real nice interview with Marty near the beginning, and they also had the clips of a recent interview Joe did just a few months ago. Lots of interviews with former players too, some of whom were Joe's teammates and others were various Reds players during Joe's broadcast years. Dunn was also interviewed near the end, and a couple things he mentioned was that Joe was like "a grandfather" to him, and that his family down in Texas knew of Joe and was very fond of him.

I got it on my DVR. I missed maybe the first minute of it so I don't think I missed anything of substance. I think it was to be on at 8 pm on Thursday.

I enjoyed it quite a bit. I was impressed that Marty was able to keep his composure (though some may have been edited out).
This Opening Day could be the saddest in Reds history.
