.382 OBP with the Reds. What do you mean 57 at-bats is a small sample size? Jorge Cantu doesn't clog up the bases. He clears them.
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

According to your profile, you're much too young to be drinking....

Plus, judging by the photo, he can provide another source of revenue to the club by selling advertising space on his chin...

He and Javy were stand-ins on the set of Boogie Nights.

Cantu is a good fit for this team with plenty of upside...the exact type of player that can show up next year and offer BP type turn around for a player that was once upon a time highly revered by the D-Rays.

Don't forget maybe a year or so ago he and Kazmir were the face that the D-Rays were promoting to their fanbase as the promising future of that franchise.
"Sometimes, it's not the sexiest moves that put you over the top," Krivsky said. "It's a series of transactions that help you get there."

I've always wondered who Cantu reminds me of; now I know. Bruce Campbell.

Actually, I really like Cantu as a role player. Not so much as a full timer.

I'd rather have him on the bench than Dewayne Wise.

Championships for MY teams in my lifetime:
    Cincinnati Reds - 75, 76, 90
    Chicago Blackhawks - 10, 13
    University of Kentucky - 78, 96, 98, 12
    Cincinnati Bengals - None
    Chicago Bulls - 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98

I think he'll be just fine as a RH platoon guy. Very similar to Jeff Conine.
