The writer seemed very fond of Dusty Baker.
I'm not sure I'd put too much stock in the stats from either AZFL or the HFL. Its unquestionably a feather in any player's cap to get selected by his club to play...there is a reason when they do. However, the stats don't tell much of a story. Many of the pitchers are working on particular pitches so hitters can sit on them knowing what is coming. Likewise, all the players, are tired and beat up from a long season of 160+ games including spring training. Not to mention the number of innings pitched/batters faced or plate appearances is so low that its too small a sample size to be very credible. Its nice blog/forum fodder at a really slow time of the year for baseball fans but I personally wouldn't put much value on the numbers, good or bad. I think I'll wait to pass judgement until the first week of April 2008.
didn't click the link, but shouldn't this be over at the Minor League Forum?
