    Redszone Community Prospect Vote: #12

Vote for the player who you think is the Reds #12 prospect (the best prospect who is not yet on the list). We will go with this as far as you guys want to take it.

I will post a new list every 2 days with 10-15 options to vote on.

If you feel like making an argument on why a guy should be voted here, feel free to vote and state why you voted for that player.

If there is someone that is not currently listed as an option to vote on, vote for 'other' then just state who you want to vote for in the thread.

If there is anyone you would like to see as an option on the next poll, just say so and if they garner enough support, they will be placed on the next poll. Guys with the lowest amount of votes will usually be removed for the next few guys who were talked about in the previous thread.

    Prospect 1 - Jay Bruce
    Prospect 2 - Homer Bailey
    Prospect 3 - Johnny Cueto
    Prospect 4 - Joey Votto
    Prospect 5 - Todd Frazier
    Prospect 6 - Drew Stubbs
    Prospect 7 - Matt Maloney
    Prospect 8 - Josh Roenicke
    Prospect 9 - Travis Wood
    Prospect 10 - Devin Mesoraco
    Prospect 11 - Kyle Lotzkar

Currently a 4 way tie between Watson, Francisco, Dorn and Fisher.

.300/.400/.500 in his minor league career at age appropriate levels.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

Fisher throws ground balls, which is great, and in time he could turn out as a back-of-rotation guy in the major leagues, but in terms of starting pitchers I think Watson and Thompson would be higher on my list. I also think Pelland and Viola are worthy of consideration for the top 20.

My own opinion is that Fisher belongs in the 20-25 range. He'll turn 25 before next season. He had a 1.49 WHIP at AA. He easily mastered both low and high A levels, but he had a lot of AA innings and was quite hittable.

Doug, you might consider Jordan Smith, Marcus Macbeth and Rafael Gonzalez for the next round.

In his defense, he had made comments about having a tired arm after 5 or 6 starts in AA and he just kept on pitching. I don't have him this high right now, but he has pretty solid stuff.

I will say, to his credit, that early last season the guy seemed like a possible top ten prospect. He was lights out early. But when a starter has this much trouble with AA, he has a lot to prove.

Hope Fisher does have a great '08 because he is the kind of pitcher who could succeed in GABP and other cozy environs.

Also, Lecure's numbers at AA were quite good. He also falls in this group and may compare favorably to some of the others. I think he is top twenty in the system.

Once again I went with Waring. I just personally don't see the potential of some of these guys. I hope I'm wrong.
If you can't build a winning team with that core a fire-sale isn't the solution. Selling the franchise, moving them to Nashville and converting GABP into a used car lot is.

Like who? I am sure some of us have plenty of information on these guys to maybe give some insight to these players potential.

When you look at this list you have to be impressed with how deep the Reds farm system has become, a few years back some of these guys would have been in the 5-10 spots, now some of those same guys might not crack the top 20.
