Krivsky says he's talked to Guardado and Milton's agents

    per trent

Wayne also said he'd talked to the agents for both Eddie Guardado and Eric Milton.
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

Hopefully he said "why are you here?" to Milton's agent.

Hopefully to line them up to pitch batting practice this spring.

Hopefully they were very short conversations.

I wouldn't mind having either back.. as long as it is a minor league deal.

I agree with this, but the problem is the Krivsky and Baker have a fetish for veterans. The Reds cannot sign guys like this, because they cannot resist the temptation to actually then put them on the roster.

No way, esp. in regards to Milton. You're only tempting fate. Especially with the Dustinator hanging around.

I agree...in fairness, Milton has been hurt nearly the entire time he pitched in Cincy and tried to suck it up because of the contract...and Eddie would not be a bad risk on a ML contract to add depth into the BP...in fact if he could only be average this BP would have a shot at being VERY NASTY.

As for Milton, give him a ML deal and let him pitch ST and then see where things end up.
"Sometimes, it's not the sexiest moves that put you over the top," Krivsky said. "It's a series of transactions that help you get there."

If Milton is signed to cut Krivsky's grass, let alone pitch even in the minors, Krivsky should a) be given an immediate drug test. b) be fired even if said test comes back clean.

Milton has a degenerative knee... it's not getting any better. And how does he earn any sort of gratitude from Reds fans for picking up his player option for that 3rd season??? Wow, Mr. Milton, thanks for sucking so badly and making 9 million dollars doing so. Heroic.

Guardado is exactly what this bullpen DOESN'T need. Target more youngsters such as Burton with real upside.

Giving Krivsky/Dusty access to "PROVEN VETERANS" such as these is playing right into their absolute WORST tendencies.
