For each position, which Red, and during which Season, had the Greatest Season Ever?

For each of the 9 positions, which player, in the entire history of the Reds organization, had the best individual season weighed against all other performances at that position in the history of the Cincinnati Reds franchise?

I would love to hear arguments for different players/years if there's no clear consensus.

EDIT: Please include that player's stat line and any eye-popping/noteworthy statistics and/or awards for the year that you nominate.

Sabermetrics is this: A batter's goal is to extend the inning. Extend enough innings and you're going to score runs. Extend more innings than your opponent and you're going to score more runs than him.

Forget the rain. It's never an official game until the Reds piss away a run between third base and home plate. - Bluegrass Redleg

My bad as well to you, Dan. I added a caveat to my OP.

I hope to see him rejoin the Reds organization is some capacity here soon.

My memory tells me Bench was much better in 1970 than 72.

I'd take Perez 1970 vs. anything Rose ever did.

Good job, Dan. I might venture Deron Johnson in 1965 at third base.

Do you have anything about them on your website?

(I was hoping you would chime in! )

Bench's 45 HR, 148 RBI year WAS 1970. (correct above).

    Perez in 1970: .317-40-129 vs. Johnson in 1965: .287-32-130

Looking at OPS, it's .401-.589-.990 for Perez vs. .340-.515-.854 for Johnson.

    Perez in a landslide.

Bench in 1970 vs. Bench in 1972:

    .293-45-148 vs. 270-40-125

But Bench walked more in 1972, OPS is closer:

    .345-.587-.932 vs. .379-.541-.920

    But 1970 stands out.
