    Red Sox Scout Arrested

A scout for the Boston Red Sox accused of committing a lewd act in a hotel room that overlooked the pool where at least two teenage girls saw him was arrested Monday, police said Tuesday.

Jesse Levis, 39, faces two felony counts of committing lewd and lascivious acts in the precense of children less than 16.

Police and a U.S. Marshals task force arrested him at a Melbourne hotel after he was kicked out of the Springhill Suites in St. Lucie West where the incidents happened.

Levis, of Pennsylvania, is accused of committing the act on Sunday before hotel management was notified. Police identified Levis as a scout for the Boston Red Sox.

He was born exactly four days before I was - and on the same day as one Pete Rose.

    Thus the similarities end there.

I heard that when Jesse Levis goes fishing, he is in charge of putting the worms on the hooks. In fact, he's known to be a master baiter.

Didn't he tear up Florida one Spring Training (2002?) for the Reds, upsetting many people when he wasn't given another shot at the bigs?

Change the "Y" to a "W" and you've got the right team I think.

He spent a season in Louisville in his early thirties.

    Sorry. I just got it.

Re: Red Sox scout arrested for public lewdness

I have a funny story about Jesse Levis. When I was a batboy for the Cloumbus Clippers, he was in town with the AAA affiliate of a team of which I forget. Anyway, all the players and personell were relaxing watching TV before BP and you hear a "HOLY S@#$!!!" come from the bathroom, then splashing water. Jesse comes out with this small stone (I'd say about the size of one poprock) between his thumb and index finger smiling. When someone asked him what was in his hand, he shouted "I just peed this out!"

The trainer came over to look at it and said "OH MY GOD! Thats a huge calcium deposit! You have got to go to the hospital!" But jesse shrugged it off saying, "I'm over 30, and I'm the backup catcher for a minor league team, I don't need any more bad news."
    Witty signature.

Maybe now he can get some help and this will not happen again. I can not imagine the Red Sox are too pleased. Jesse, from what I remember, is a bit stand offish. (sp?) Maybe this is a wake up call.
It's absolutely pathetic that people can't have an opinion from actually watching games and supplementing that with stats. If you voice an opinion that doesn't fit into a black/white box you will get completely misrepresented and basically called a tobacco chewing traditionalist...

That kind of thing didn't keep Dick Williams out of the Hall of Fame.

This is sad to read...hope he gets help.

That's the one. The Reds went with Jason LaRue, Corky Miller, and Kelly Stinnett instead.

IIRC, he was arrested for indecent exposure at a hotel after his managing days were over. Need to keep Mr Happy zipped away when out in public.
