    Lohse lowers asking price

Lohse and agent Scott Boras have supposedly backed off the 4 year 40 million dollar range they were initially supposed to be shopping his services in and have relented and reduced the asking price to 3 years uppers 20's, low 30s due to the market.

Does this change anyones opinion of him as an option even one iota?

I don't think it does for me, but I also would rather see 3 of Lohse than 3 of Fogg.

Championships for MY teams in my lifetime:
    Cincinnati Reds - 75, 76, 90
    Chicago Blackhawks - 10, 13, 15
    University of Kentucky - 78, 96, 98, 12
    Chicago Bulls - 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98

I agree.. however if it wasn't for Santana, Bedard, and Haren talk this offseason then I think he would of got his 9-10 million a year.

I doubt the Reds are remotely interested in Lohse even at that price. If they had been we would have already heard about it by now. I would thin a team like KC would take a run at him for that amount.
If you have a losing record at Reds games, please stop going.

He's better then anyone else on the free agent market. I'd much rather have him then Fogg, Lieber, Benson, Tomko, Livan, or Garcia. I'd rather have Loshe then giving up the farm for Bedard as well.

Give me Lohse over Fogg, Livan and Tomko any day of the week.

Well -if the numbers touted for Fogg or Benson are accurate, its not that much more for Lohse. Its a really nutty FA market for pitchers.

I wonder if his attitude [perceived or real] is hindering his signing.

    Re: Lohse lowers asking price

Him and Tomko are basically the same pitcher. The only difference is about 3 years and a extra 25M. Lohse no longer has a role here. He was fine when his contract was affordable, but that's no longer the case.

His new nickname is "Walmart," as in "beware of falling prices."

    Re: Lohse lowers asking price

We saw Kyle Lohse at his highly motivated best last season and it was completely forgettable. Any team that gives him a multi-year deal will be sorry.

    Re: Lohse lowers asking price

Maybe it's because he has a new house payment to make?

    http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepu...ls0109-ON.html

    $4,006,000.

Kyle and Gabrielle Lohse purchased a 7,254 square-foot home with 900 square-foot pool originally built in 2006 east of Whisper Rock Golf Club in Scottsdale. Kyle Lohse is a pitcher acquired last July by the Philadelphia Phillies from the Cincinnati Reds. He has been a major league baseball player for six years. The home was sold by Four Dawgs LLC, an Arizona limited liability company whose members are Michael D. Snep, James M. Scappaticci, Thomas A. Scappaticci and Dominic Scappaticci Jr.

I don't mind dealing with Scott Boras for a GOOD player.

I would too if the Reds can obtain another starting pitcher such as Bedard or Blanton.
